Opportunity Schools is looking for a
Special Education Instructional Assistant!
The general responsibility of the Special Education Instructional Assistant is to support and facilitate the academic progress of students with learning disabilities and social challenges through one-on-one intervention and small group support in grades K-8.
Specific responsibilities include travelling to individual Opportunity satellite schools to work one-on-one intervention or small group support, using Opportunity Schools’ multisensory interventions to meet the needs of students with learning disabilities. Supports may be designed to meet academic, behavior, social, or executive function needs.

We hope you had a delightful summer break recharging
and creating lasting memories together.
For those of you that are new to Opportunity Schools, we have been privileged to partner with private schools for the past 30 years, equipping them to enrich the lives of students with challenges. My own daughter, who was not expected to go past the sixth grade, successfully received her college degree because of educational interventions she received from Opportunity Schools in her early school years. Our passion is to continue to support students to help unlock their true learning potential.
Opportunity Schools' services are provided by a team of Professional Educational Specialists that support the Opportunity teacher at your school. This may include consultation, observation, working directly with your student, modeling specific strategies, and supporting schools and parents if additional resources are needed.
As part of our services, collaboration between our Opportunity teacher and your student’s general education teacher is key as we work together to provide support. This also includes school-wide Professional Development and Opportunity Teacher training throughout the year.
Starting in October, we're excited to launch our new monthly parent newsletter, Opportunity Schools: Bridging the School to Home Connection which will share valuable information to bridge the gap between school and home. We will introduce and share some incredibly useful Executive Function Skills and also give you monthly tips on how you can help your child develop these critical skills at home. Additional resources will include inspirational video clips, age-specific articles, and much more!
Our NEW Upper Elementary / Middle School Models focus on skills that are beneficial to all students. These models focus on strengthening academics, developing Executive Function Skills, and preparing students for their upcoming transitions in school and beyond.
